The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) has denied any direct participation of American forces stationed
in Mindanao in actual combat operations in the area, even as it admitted that the US troops’ involvement is limited to providing technical assistance and information to the Philippine military.

In an interview at Camp Aguinaldo, AFP public affairs office (PAO) chief, Lt. Col. Romeo Brawner dismissed the allegations made by former Lt. Nancy Gadian that the US military has built permanent structures in military camps in the country.

Brawner said the AFP will not glorify her (Gadian’s) allegations by answering point by point all her claims.

“The burden of proof is on her, so siya dapat ang mag-prove ng mga allegations na ito. And again, we would like to remind the public that her first allegation on the alleged misuse of the Balikatan funds has not been proven by her until now and then here she comes now with a new set of allegations,” Brawner said.
