La Salle tries to revive its Final 4 bid on Saturday when the Archers meet University of the East in the UAAP basketball tournament at The Arena in San Juan City.

The Archers and the Warriors collide in the 4 p.m. main game after the 2 p.m. opener pitting University of the Philippines against Far Eastern University.

With a 4-6 record and one game behind fourth-placed University of Santo Tomas (5-5) and two behind the Warriors (6-4), the Archers must win at least three of their remaining four games to stay in contention for the semifinals.

“Our destiny is now in our hands. We have to win every game now,” said DLSU mentor Franz Pumaren, whose wards were stunned by the Fighting Maroons, 83-78, last week to stretch their losing skein to four games.

The Warriors will go into the court enjoying a big psychological advantage having beaten the Archers, 65-46, in their first round meeting. Aside from this, UE is coming off a huge 87-72 win over Far Eastern University last Sunday.

In the first game, the Fighting Maroons, who registered what perhaps was the biggest upset of the season by beating Ateneo, 68-58, in the first round, hope to pull off another surprise to also keep their semifinals bid alive.

Already in the Final 4 are the defending champions Blue Eagles and the Tamaraws, who clinched the second semis berth with an 84-75 triumph over Adamson on Thursday.

"We just have to win our last four games. It's still mathematically possible (to reach the Final Four) so we just have to play hard," said UP head coach Aboy Castro.

FEU coach Glenn Capacio said that his team would have to take its game to another level in order to beat the Maroons.

“Tinalo na nila ang Ateneo at La Salle siyempre ma-momotivate sila against us kaya kailangan hindi kami dapat mag-relax,” Capacio said.

In UP’s win, rookie guard Mikee Reyes scored 25 points while Woody Co and Mark Lopez came away with 13 and 11 points, respectively.
