ABS-CBN refused to comment on why the footage of “Wowowee” host Willie Revillame dancing and singing with presidential aspirant Manny Villar at the Kadayawan Festival in Davao was not included in newsreels about the event that aired on the channel.

Villar sponsored the concert saying it was his "gift" to Davaoeneos.

The concert was Revillame’s first public appearance after taking a leave of absence from his popular noontime show, “Wowowee,” owing to the brouhaha caused by his outburst over the airing of former President Cory Aquino’s cortege in a portion of the show.

During the concert, Revillame and Villar greeted the crowd under a great wash of rain, with the controversial host shouting, "Walang aalis, walang iwanan, sama-sama tayo dito."

And as the crowd continued to scream their appreciation, Villar addressed them in turn saying, “Nagpapasalamant kami sa mainit na pagtanggap ninyo sa amin.”

But that's as far as the show went because at around 8 p.m., organizers had to cut the show short after the sound system broke down.

The concert coincided with the City’s Kadayawan Festival, which included other shows like a separate concert by Katrina Halili and the Kadayawan Leg of the Villards Cup held at the NCC Mall featuring Efren “Bata” Reyes.

Sought for comment, a representative from Villar’s office deems the rumor a non-issue. “It’s their call. Maybe [ABS-CBN] will air it in due time.”
