Top drug man, ‘shabu queen’ fall
The Cordillera Region’s Number One most wanted drug personality and Baguio City’s alleged “shabu queen” were arrested by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in separate operations conducted in the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) in the past two weeks.
PDEA Director General Dionisio Santiago announced on Friday the arrest of Teodulo Villareal, alias Teddy, and Brenda Singson, both of whom have been in the region’s Priority Target List.
Both suspects were arrested during separate operations conducted by the PDEA’s Task Group Alpha led by Commander Director III Roberto S. Opeña.
Santiago said Villareal is the Number One most wanted drug personality in the Cordillera Region and is associated with a notorious local drug group and a dreaded organized crime group operating on a national scale.
Singson has been called Baguio City’s “shabu queen” and is the highest ranking among the female targets in the Cordillera Region.
Villareal along with his common-law-wife Catherine Hieras were arrested last August 25 by a composite team of PDEA ATG Alpha, Criminal Investigation and Detection Group-CAR and Philippine National Police Highway Patrol Group (PNP-HPG) in the vicinity of the Baguio General Hospital Compound on the strength of a Warrant of Arrest for drug related violations.
Santiago said last year, PDEA agents raided the house of Villareal which was also used as a drug den in Baguio City. During the raid, Villareal eluded arrest but agents arrested Hieras, who co-operated the den, and nine other persons.
The agents also confiscated shabu, marijuana, chemical precursors for making shabu, assorted clandestine laboratory tools and instruments, several drug paraphernalia, records of drug transactions, pieces of live ammunition and deadly weapons.
Following the raid last year, a warrant was issued against both Villareal and Hieras.
Meanwhile, Singson was arrested last August 21 along with Jordan Luther Managdag and Ely Flores by PDEA operatives while serving a warrant against her at her residence at 34 Magnolia corner Gladiola Streets, QM Subdivision, City Camp Proper, Baguio City.
Managdag is included in the Regional Watch List of drug personalities and was part of the Bambi Drug Group that was neutralized by PDEA-CAR last year while Flores is a trusted runner of Singson.
Confiscated during the operation against Singson were 21 sachets of shabu worth around P40,000, assorted drug paraphernalia, and some ammunition.
