Modern day care center in Pasay up
The Pasay City government announced the start of construction of a three-story day care center that will soon serve a total of 120 school children by November.
The day care and learning center with a total area of 222 square meters, located inside the compound of Kalayaan Condominium Phase 1 Housing Project, is already 30 percent completed.
According to Mayor Peewee Trinidad, the day care center with a total funding of P7 million was made possible through the combined help of the Lions Club International, Nagoya West Lions Club and the Makati Golden Lions Club.
Trinidad was thankful for the group because the day care center with two classrooms available per floor can serve 20 children in each room. The center will operate on a three-shift basis.
He said the center will not only serve the children in the Kalayaan Condominium compound but also those living in nearby communities.
It was learned that aside from the two classrooms, the second floor of the building will be used as a library that will be filled with children’s books and learning materials, a television set, and computers.
Trinidad said the Kalayaan day care center would be different from other day care centers in the city because it will also have playground facilities.
The building will be the 105th day care center in the city.
The mayor also expressed gratitude to the Makati Golden Lions Club through the initiative of Marivic Resuello, a board director of the group, for choosing the city as the place where they could build a modern day care center.
Trinidad stressed that one of the priorities of his administration is to give the best education to the city’s school children. (Jean Fernando)
