Be strict on traffic rules – solon
A lawmaker called Saturday for the strict enforcement and observance of traffic rules in the light of the increasing number of road mishaps that claim innocent lives.
"The lack of discipline of many Filipinos has become rampant as to even result in death. Even if Congress passes traffic laws every day, if people still deliberately disobey them, they would be rendered useless," said Quezon Rep. Proceso Alcala, a member of the House Transportation Committee.
Therefore, he said, authorities should strictly enforce traffic rules so that the people would observe them at all times.
The solon cited the recent road accident in Quezon City wherein a bus hit a 28-year-old woman and killed her three-year-old daughter while they were crossing a street.
