1,200 policemen get college diploma
A total of 1,200 policemen were given assurance that they would no longer be kicked out of the service after they completed the requirement which the Philippine National Police (PNP) has long demanded from them: A college degree.
Director General Jesus Verzosa, PNP chief, said the 1,200 cops were mostly members of the defunct Philippine Constabulary and Integrated National Police (PC/INP) who were absorbed into the police service in 1991 when the PNP was created. “They are now eligible for further career advancement
in the service upon compliance with the minimum educational qualification of the PNP,” said Verzosa.
The new graduates composed the 6th batch of students who underwent the Commission on Higher Education-Expanded Tertiary Education Equivalency and Accreditation Program (CHED-ETEEAP) program.
