“Is Regine Velasquez pregnant?” was the question on people’s lips during the belated birthday celebration of her 42-year-old beau Ogie Alcasid on Sunday variety show “SOP” last Aug. 30.

Speculations about Regine's pregnancy arose after she blurted out on air “Here’s to Herminio Alcasid III!” during a toast raised to Ogie.  

Herminio Alcasid Jr. is Ogie’s real name.

However, when reporters bombarded Regine with baby questions, the Songbird merely gave her usual “I wish” one-liner.

Ogie, who told reporters of his plans for a Paris getaway with Regine, gave the same answer when needled by a reporter if, perhaps, the baby would be “made in France.”

“Sana,” Ogie said. “Wish ko lang…”

Regine reiterated that she is already happy just having Ogie with her, “although if God will bless us with a child, it would be nice if it will be two or three (children).”

Since publicly admitting their romance in 2007, Regine, 39, has had to deal with wedding and baby questions. She also has had to deal with questions about her going into retirement.

In a 2007 interview, the Songbird said: "Buong buhay ko inialay ko sa career ko, sa audience ko. Ngayon naman, gusto kong magkaroon ng kaligayahan. Kung kinakailangan kong i-give up ang career ko para lang kay Ogie, gagawin ko."

Last year, Regine addressed questions regarding the relationship: "Sana one day, talagang maging magkasama na kami. Siyempre, di ba, lahat naman ng relationship yun ang aim, di ba, to be together?"

Note that Ogie is yet to finalize the annulment of his marriage to Australian Michelle Van Eimeren.

Addressing the baby issue vis a vis her age in a “Startalk” interview, Regine said that as a woman, “meron kaming biological clock na kailangang intindihin.” 

"(Pero) kung kunwari ay mabigyan kami (ni Ogie) nang pagkakataon to be together na talaga, 'tapos hindi kami ma-bless to have our own children, it will be okay with me. It's a reality that I must face."
