JOLO, Sulu – Most of the mayors of Sulu adopted and signed a manifesto endorsing to the Lakas-Kampi-Coalition directorate Sulu Vice Governor Nur Anna (Lady Ann) Sahidulla as their nominee for the 2nd congressional district seat in the province in the coming polls.

Pata (Sulu) Mayor Hadja Nurmina Burahan said that from the present crop of politicians, Sahidulla has shown the streak of independence to stand firm for her people on any issue, exhibited knowledge in the art of negotiation during conflicts, and possesses heart and pulse which are one with her people.

Of the 19 town mayors of Sulu, at least 13 signed the endorsement favoring Sahidulla to be the next representative of Sulu’s 2nd district. Siasi Mayor Arthur Muksan also claimed that most of them (mayors) have realized that Sahidulla can work hand-in-hand with local and national government leaders, espouse true peace amongst groups in conflict and honestly to bring forth peace and development “to our district and Sulu in general.”

Adding that after conducting a series of consultations, “we decided that Sahidulla fits the criteria since she has the needed qualities to fight-off the practice of political patronization.

Sahidulla has been eyed by top political kingpins of Sulu as replacement to 2nd District Rep. Munir Arbison who is on his third and final term as congressman of the district.

Banguingi Mayor Abdulwahid Sahidulla said, “we are making this first trumpet sound to urge Vice-Governor Sahidulla to accept the wishes of the Suluanos to be their representative in the 2nd district as they strongly believe that their long aspirated peace and development in the province of Sulu will soon be realize.”
