Korina gets emotional

September 4, 2009, 3:56pm

In a rare moment, Korina Sanchez became emotional on air in an interview with co-host Ted Failon on DZMM last Wednesday morning about an item one columnist wrote of fiancé, Senator Mar Roxas.

Korina was specifically hurt with the words “too hungry for power” said to be describing the Senator. Korina said, “If you ask me, nilalahat niya.

Malinaw ’yan. I weep and I am very hurt not because Mar slid or gave way to somebody else. I am hurt because of some people who expressed doubt about Mar. That is the most painful to me. No one can say that about him. If it was about reluctance to power, I believe that among all of them, Mar is the most reluctant, as if reluctance is the main reason why somebody should lead the country.”

Roxanne answers back

Another actress who recently was accused of having attitude problem is Roxanne Guinoo particularly after she backed off from a project opposite Guji Lorenzana for “Precious Hearts Romances Presents Bud Brothers.”

Roxanne explained during a recent press launch: “Yung istorya ng ‘Bud Brothers’ – na hanggang ngayon ay hindi pa patay ang issue – kami ang nagkaintindihan ng manager ko, si Mr. M [Johnny Manahan], Ms. Mariole [Alberto] about it. Hindi lang ako ang nagkamali sa nangyari. Naibigay sa akin yung script the day before the taping, dun ko pa lang nabasa yung buong istorya.

Kung ite-take ninyo in a negative way, kayo na ang bahala dun. Pero hindi ko ugaling mambastos nang harap-harapan.”

Filipino audience is the most difficult to please – Madrigal Singers

Despite having been able to tour most parts of the world, the Filipino audience remains the hardest crowd to please, the Philippine Madrigal Singers or Madz told the Manila Bulletin in a recent concert media affair.

“Filipinos pa rin ang hardest audience to please,” agreed the chorale members. “It is so because most Pinoys know chorale and most of them are members of choirs so yes, our kababayans remain the most difficult concert crowd to please in the world… or at least from our experience.”

The Madrigal Singers recently made the country proud when the group was chosen by the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) Director General Koïchiro Matsuura for the recognition of Artist for Peace. UNESCO cited the choir’s contribution and “efforts to promote dialogue and understanding among peoples in Southeast Asia, their contribution to extend UNESCO’s message of peace and tolerance, and their dedication to the ideals and aims of the Organization.”

Last Aug.27, the Philippine Madrigal Singers amazed Pinoys via the concert “MADZ About Love… Madz About Peace” at the CCP Main Theatre.
