Actor Cogie Domingo’s father, human rights lawyer Atty. Rod Domingo, had asked the public not to judge his son for being dragged in the controversy of Deputy National Security adviser Luis Chavit Singson’s alleged mauling of his live-in partner Rachel Tiongson.

In an interview aired Friday on “Showbiz News Ngayon,” Singson said Cogie allegedly had an affair with Tiongson.

Deeply saddened by his son’s inclusion in the controversy, Atty. Rod Domingo pleaded the public not to pass judgment on his actor-son.

“Bilang ama ni Cogie, siyempre, apektado tayo. Naiintindihan natin ang kalagayan ni Gov. Singson ngunit bigyan natin ng panahon siguro. I’m sure everything will be settled.

“I could also understand the position of his live-in partner because she was injured. Hindi ko masasabi kung iyon ay totoo o hindi. I will have to confront Cogie about it,” said Atty.. Domingo.

The actor is currently in the country. He was in Cebu recently helping his father promote a consumer rights campaign about missing cellphone load.

Acknowledging the possible effect of the scandal on his son’s attempt in showbiz, Atty. Domingo said, “I wish this will not deter his intended comeback.”
