Web Search for Kids and Librarians
The Internet is a huge repository of information. Since there are good and bad information all over the web, a group of librarians decided to come up with a site called Kidsclick (http://www.kidsclick.org)
KidsClick! was created by a group of librarians at the Ramapo Catskill Library System, as a logical step in addressing concerns about the role of public libraries in guiding their young users to valuable and age appropriate web sites.
The site is intended to guide users to good sites; not block them from "bad" sites. However, it could be used in conjunction with a filter product where law allows filters to be used.
The site offers section like Facts and Reference, Weird and Mysterious, Religion and Mythology, Society and Government, Reading, Writing and Speaking, Science and Math, Health and Family, Home and Household, Machine and Transportation, Computers / Internet / Arts, Popular Entertainment, Sports and Recreation, Literature, Geography, History, Biography and more.
Use the power of the web correctly.
Have Fun!
