The late PBA commissioner Jun Bernardino leads six other personalities who will be inducted into the 2009 PBA Hall of Fame set October 9 at the Shangri-La Hotel in Makati City.

Bernardino will join legendary stars Samboy Lim, Allan Caidic, Ricardo Brown, Hector Calma, Bobby Parks and former league executive Carlos "Honeyboy" Palanca into the league's elite class after they were chosen by a selection committee headed by sportscaster Andy Jao.

"We're honored to include them in the list of Hall of Famers. We made a strict criteria for them be inducted in this elite class," said incoming chairman Lito Alvarez of Burger King during Tuesday's PSA Forum at the Shakey’s UN Ave. in Manila.

During his nine-year term from 1994-2002, Bernardino presided in the rise of Alvin Patrimonio, Johnny Abarrientos, Kenneth Duremdes, Marlou Aquino and Nelson Asaytono as PBA superstars.

Brown and Caidic were named the PBA's Most Valuable Player in 1985 and 1990, respectively, with both leading the Great Taste/Presto franchise to the championship during those years.

Lim dazzled the audience with spectacular high-flying moves while Calma shined in backcourt duties in helping San Miguel Beer win the 1989 PBA grand slam.
