Finally, a breather for Kris Aquino.

The host-actress bade goodbye—albeit in the short term—to fans Sept. 10, as she and the rest of her family—popular cager James Yap, and kids Joshua and Baby James—flew to Hawaii for a much needed vacation.

Aquino says the break was essentially for the purpose of “bonding” with her kids.

She originally planned to bring her children to Disneyworld last August. Although she says she had everything prepared, she had to cancel it July due to her mom, the late Corazon Aquino’s then worsening condition. 

The former president died August 1.

“We decided to schedule the vacation after mom’s 40 days. I said I wanted to bring the kids somewhere with lots of water instead. My two kids are ‘water babies’ – Josh was already very good at swimming since he was two…James, too,” she relates.

Aquino says she decided on Hawaii for its many water parks.

“That’s the main requirement (for this trip)… lots of pools, water rides… and Hawaii is so near…and there are lots of Filipinos there to take care of us.”

Aquino says she visited Hawaii before and had wanted to go back since.

“When James and I went there, we really enjoyed ourselves, but it was a short stay, only two nights. (Hawaii) is really beautiful,” she opines.

Admitting she is ‘OC’ (obsessive-compulsive), particularly when it concerns vacations, Aquino says she has all their activities already planned down to the last detail.

“I had everything laminated (for safety purposes), including our reservation details, maps, our tour itinerary, vouchers—everything. Some people would probably say ‘that girl is crazy’ and I’ll say ‘correct!’”
