From music to television to film, the stars of these talented lasses are on the rise. One is a triple threat singer cum television and film star and the other two are a pair of talented sisters who are ready to revolutionize the Pinoy pop-acoustic scene. They’re ready for the spotlight... Read on to find out more!

Lovi Poe does drama, comedy, and more!

Singer and actress Lovi Poe recently made waves with her first mature role as an actress in Paolo Villaluna’s and Ellen Ramos’ third film “Walang Hanggang Paalam” at its world premiere at the recently concluded Cinemalaya-Netpac exhibition. As the runaway Maria, Lovi was indeed a revelation. Critics enjoyed her natural performance as a young girl who runs with her fiancée (played by Joem Bascon) but falls in love with a tourist who is much older (played by Japanese actor, Jacky Woo).

Now, Lovi is indeed reaping the rewards of her success. She has started work on her most ambitious and dramatic role to date, that of a battered daughter in Joel Lamangan’s forthcoming “Sagrada Pamilya.”

“I am most excited with my new role and I am giving more than one hundred percent to deliver a good performance,” says Lovi who is joined by a fine cast in this Raquel Villavicencio drama. Award-winning actors Snooky Serna, Emilio Garcia, Gloria Diaz, Robert Arevalo and promising actor Felix Roco round out the cast of “Sagrada Pamilya.”

After returning from Singapore for a successful concert engagement, Lovi has begun work on her Film Festival entry for her home studio, Regal Films, a new edition of “Shake, Rattle & Roll” where the young actress is paired for the first time with Rayver Cruz. Lovi and Rayver will be in the “Lamanglupa” episode.

If that wasn’t enough, fans can catch more of Lovi on television as she ventures forward in her very first sitcom, “Show Me The Manny” which airs every Sunday at 9:30 p.m. on GMA-7. In this new show, Lovi plays Hannah Montano, the teenaged niece of Manny Pacquiao.

“It is indeed a pleasure to be working with the great Manny Pacquiao, the taping atmosphere is like one big party,” says Lovi.
