A recent pocket interview attended by Manila Bulletin Entertainment Online at Amano Restaurant on Tomas Morato St. in Quezon City revealed five things that actress Meryll Soriano considers as No-No’s:

1)     Meryll does not want her father Willie Revillame to run for public office.

“He is already helping millions of OFWs cope with loneliness through his show ‘Wowowee.’ He doesn’t need to be a public official to do more. But, of course, he still has the final say on the matter. Kung gugustuhin niyang tumakbo, what can I do but to support him?’

2)     Meryll does not want to deny or confirm who her current boyfriend is.

“I owe it to myself to keep that aspect of my life, private. If before I've been open to the whole Philippines about my relationship, this time I want to try a different attack out of respect to my son, to my former husband Bernard Palanca, to my family, and to myself."

3)    Meryll does not want to be an actress who keeps on doing the same things.

“Right now, I’m rehearsing for my first theater stint ‘A Streetcar Named Desire’ in which I play Stella Kowalski. I also want to play off-the-wall roles such as a man – not a lesbian, hah-- or an assassin ala-Angelina Jolie.”

4)    Meryll does not want the newspaper and magazine industry to die.

“I’m working on becoming editor-in-chief of my own magazine. Even though the online thing is all the rage, I still think newspapers and magazines have their places in the publishing industry. I, myself, love the smell of paper.”

5)    Meryll does not want to ride on the name of his famous Dad.

“I work hard for the money. I’m an independent woman. I’m not the type who would ask for money from my Dad. Minsan he gives me financial support but if he doesn’t, I don’t ask. Kahit nga mag-guest host sa ‘Wowowee,’ hindi ko hinihiling sa kanya. I want to make it on my own.”
