Oakwood, one of the well-known names in serviced apartments worldwide, is opening a new luxury service apartment hotel in the Ortigas Center. Located along ADB Avenue in Ortigas, the new hotel will be known as Oakwood Premier Joy-Nostalg Center. It will represent the brand’s most prestigious and exclusive line in their roster of serviced apartments.

“Manila is important in our international portfolio because of its expanding role in the global community,” said Steve Selcer, president and COO of Oakwood. “The addition of this property further marks Oakwood’s commitment to meeting the demands of our global customers. We are honored to partner with Quantuvis Resources Corporation, the owning company of Oakwood Premier Joy-Nostalg Center Manila.”

According to Quantuvis director Jacinto Ng, Jr., the company invested a total of P3-billion for the new Oakwood Premier. “Our company has always been interested to go into the leisure and hospitality business. As a rising real estate developer, we wanted our landmark property to be under the management that shares both our vision and our corporate values, that’s why we chose Oakwood.”

The establishment has a total of 233 fully-furnished apartments that offer the luxury of a five-star hotel and the comforts of a beautiful home. Oakwood Premier will be under the management of Oakwood Asia which also handles 22 other branches all-over the continent. Other floors of the building will be used for leasing of private firms and companies.

Heading the management and staff of the new Oakwood place is hotelier Brian Connelly. The property, designed for short or long term stays, features studio, one, two and three bedroom apartments.

One notable feature of the new Oakwood is application of Green Architecture to the structure. The building makes use of 100 percent Low-E Glass system. This allows 100 percent of light coming from the outside to flow into the rooms, but only 60 percent of the heat can penetrate.

“This spells energy efficiency as our clients and tenants have the option not to use electrical lighting as the Low-E glass system allows all the rooms to be illuminated naturally,” said Mr. Ng.

As for the design, the hotel interiors will evoke classic elegance and subtle luxury in the execution of elements within the main public spaces, guest facilities and the private residential units. The project shares the highest standards of Oakwood Premier properties, the brand’s luxury product in the Asia Pacific region.

“Classic means timeless and appropriate to a variety of tastes and preferences. Oakwood Premier exhibits an international design spirit so that every guest feels comfortable in Oakwood as his temporary residence, regardless of nationality or country of origin,” said Connelly.

The unique charm of the Ortigas property is marked by the classics combined with Oriental flavor – patterns customized on furnishings. This theme can be seen at the lobby walls and the active pattern of the stone flooring. The theme is complemented by the artwork by Carlo Magno that frames the wall by the concierge desk. The controls on the lobby’s three-tier crystal chandeliers can transform its character from a bright and charming receiving hall to a more intimate and cozy meeting area.

For absolute security, residences are only accessible by key-operated elevators. Each apartment is designed with richly muted color and furnished with well-designed pieces that add character to every room.

“Our clients have high expectations in terms of product and service. The product is tailored to their needs, combining spacious floor area with basic home requisites and modern indulgences,” Connelly added.

Each residence has a king-size bed with luxurious linens, an elegant dining area’ fully-equipped gourmet kitchen, marble bathroom with deluxe amenities, laundry and ironing facilities, 40-inch high-definition home entertainment system with surround sound speakers, built-in DVD and multi-media interface, international direct dial telephone with voice mail, electronic safe, and high-speed broadband Internet access.

Floor area of apartments starts at 41 sqm for a studio residence. In one to three bedroom units, the free-plan configuration of living and dining areas and full-height vision panels establishes a feeling of flexibility and lightness.

The bathroom is equipped with a rainshower head and built-in-steam, vessel-type double sinks, a free-standing bathtub, and even has a retractable waterproof flat-screen television that affords uninterrupted viewing in the private area.

Other amenities also include: The Oakroom international restaurant and bar, indoor swimming pool and jacuzzi, fitness center, business center with videoconferencing facilities, banquet and conference space, and Wi-Fi in public areas.

Detailed building layout and planning of Oakwood Premier Joy~Nostalg Center Manila was conceptualized and master-planned by Architects Esteban Y. Tan and Gavino L. Tan Partners, while interior design specifics were prepared and implemented by Leandro V. Locsin Partners. The façade and interior design concepts were made in collaboration with the Taiwan-based architectural group of C.Y. Lee and Partners, responsible for the concept behind Asia’s tallest structure, Taipei 101.
