DENR-WEAP pollution control officers training, accreditation

The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR)-Environment Management Bureau-NCR and the Water Environment Assosciation of the Philippines (WEAP) will conduct a basic training course for new pollution control officers (PC)) on Sept. 22-25 at the Great Eastern Hotel, Quezon Ave., Quezon City. The training course is pursuant to the observance of the World Environment
Month last June.

The four-day seminar will orient the prospective PCOs on the different environmental laws and their implementing rules and regulations, EMB policies and programs and PCO duties and responsibilities.

EMB-NCR Director Roberto Sheen will spearhead the training aimed at enablng industries to improve their environmental manageement, pollution prevention and cleaner production programs.. Successful participants will be accredited as pracitising PCO.
