All systems go.

This was Senator Maria Ana Consuelo “Jamby’’ Madrigal’s determined stand to seek the presidency in the 2010 national election despite the surprise very high poll survey rating of Senator Benigno Simeon “Noynoy’’ Aquino III over his four potential rivals in the 2010 presidential race.

Madrigal said the current fluid political situation, particularly the clockwise movement of popularity ratings of her potential rivals, prompted her to just “watch everything until the dust settles.’’

Aquino’s 50 percent rating polled by the Social Weather Station (SWS) in selected parts of Luzon, including Metro Manila, dwarfed the combined poll ratings of Senator Manuel Villar Jr., president of the Nacionalista Party (NP), who had 14 percent; Senator Francis Escudero with 12 percent; and Vice President Noli  de Castro with 7 percent.

Madrigal’s name was not included in the survey but she said that she was informed that a next poll survey would show that her rating would go up to 3 percent although she has not spent a single centavo for her advertisement.

“I am happy because people don’t know I am running. Wala pa akong gastos kundi sa kagandahan loob ko. Merry go round lang yan,’’ she stated.

Asked if she would run as independent as there are many potential candidates belonging to varied political parties, Madrigal replied; “mabubuo yan.’’

Asked on her senatorial slate, the lady senator said she is considering potential candidates but would not name them until the filing of certificates of candidates whose deadline is November 30.
