The business of blogging -- may be good business? (Part 2)
I got a bunch of email from people with issues about their physical make up. Hey, I’m not ragging on people who want things done on them to improve their looks.
To each his/her own but, as I mentioned before, there are precautions one must take. I swear to not having had anything done on any part of me much less my face.
Yeah, I’m pushing 50 but no one seems to believe this. This is a product of being blessed with youthful looks from above and proud to say have been untainted by any medical or technological breakthroughs but as far as my physique is concerned, I admit at having contemplated on having liposuction.
More than 10 years after, I am still contemplating. So in answer to Emma G. and Timothy S’s emails, here’s more enlightenment…
Emma says she’s overweight and needs to have liposuction done on more than 50% of her body. Before going through it she wanted to know more about it.
What is Liposuction? Liposuction is started by making a small incision, (about half an inch or less), in the skin, often in or near the buttock crease or a previous scar.
The small suction rod, called a cannula, is inserted and connected to a vacuum source with a suction tube. The vacuum sucks the fat out and leaves everything else intact. Many people have only a vague concept of what liposuction is. Simply put, liposuction is the surgical removal of fat cells through a stainless steel suction tube.
Liposuction was first performed in 1974 and was a tremendous improvement over previous surgical body contouring techniques. There have been many advances in liposuction procedures over the last few decades, making it one of the safest and most popular body-contouring surgeries in the world.
Timothy has a paunchy face, sort of sagging flabby cheeks, is what he wrote in. What time of liposuction suits him?
What is Facial Liposuction? - Facial liposuction removes fatty deposits from specific areas of the face such as the chin, neck, and jowls. Facial liposuction rids patients of these excess fat deposits that make them look and feel older. A safe procedure with dramatic results, facial liposuction has helped thousands of people look and feel younger and more attractive.
Face, Neck, and Chin Liposuction - Facial liposuction is most often performed with a micro-cannula using a tumescent technique that involves injecting fluid into the targeted area while suctioning the fat out.
In some cases, liposuction of the chin, neck, and jowls, as well as other facial liposuction procedures, can have better results in these problem areas than other surgical techniques. Facial liposuction can also be more desirable because it minimizes scarring when compared to other surgical techniques. Facial liposuction is usually performed on or below the chin and jaw line to reduce the appearance of sagging skin in the neck, a double-chin, or hanging jowls.
The aforementioned procedures may be applicable to Emma and Timothy but please, do not just take my word for it. As I had talked about in Part 1 of this Beauty and Technology feature, if you do make up your minds and take the Beauty enhancement/augmentation route please DO SO WITH CAUTION.
Consult your doctor, take the preliminary tests, not just physically be examined but also have your head examined by asking yourself more than once, am I ready for this? Be ready to face the drastic consequences….ah.. the price we have to pay for vanity?
