Although it’s no secret that the former First Lady Imelda Marcos is a staunch supporter of homegrown artists, it was still a surprise to hear rumors that her son, Ilocos Norte Rep. Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. is also doing the same -- but only for one artist.

Text messages circulating of late have it that a car, reportedly registered to the 52-year-old congressman, is seen parked regularly in front of Pop Princess Sarah Geronimo’s house.

Not a few are insinuating that the very-much-married [to the former Louise Araneta] Marcos is courting Geronimo.

In an interview, the 21-year-old singer rejected the accusation. "Where did they get that? That is just too much,” she said. “This is embarrassing…for the Marcos family and my family, too.”

Geronimo said she thought it rude that people could suggest such an upsetting notion saying, "At the very least they should allow me a bit of respect.”  

Geronimo said she is clueless how the rumor started.

“I just try to look at it in the same manner that I look at the recent rumor I’ve heard of late…about [singer] Beyonce being supposedly dead. I think of it just like that…it's just so…absurd.”

If there is anything that Geronimo is ready to admit, it is that fellow singer Mark Bautista is still doggedly wooing her.

News came out the past month that she had rejected Bautista’s amorous declarations.

“He is very persistent and consistent,” she revealed.

Geronimo hinted that she just might end up falling for Bautista. “Who knows? Maybe, we will end up together in the end.”

That said, Geronimo insisted she is not in a hurry to have a boyfriend.

“I really don’t think I should rush into these things. I’m happy with the way things are.”
