The wedding of broadcaster Korina Sanchez and Senator Mar Roxas has been moved from October 23 to October 27, 2009. 

“Hindi naman sa hindi na matutuloy [kundi] iuurong ‘yung kasal ng mga ilang araw,” said Korina in “Showbiz News Ngayon” on September 17.

Korina enumerated several reasons for the postponement.

“We have to wait for relatives abroad. One of my bridesmaids --one of my very, very best friends--will be coming home after October 23. Naku, hindi puwedeng wala siya.  Ang ipinakiusap ko na lang kay Mar, ‘Please naman, pagbigyan mo na ako dito.’ They have to be part of it. Kaya namin inurong ng 27.

“Saka, ‘yong pagdarausan kasi ng reception is available on the 27th  and not on the 23rd.”

The wedding preparations were stalled, too, by the future groom’s change of political plans.

Sacrificing his political dream, Senator Roxas had decided to support the candidacy of Senator Noynoy Aquino who is gunning for the presidency. 

“Medyo naantala ng kaunti dahil sa pagpapalit ng plano ni Mar. Pinaraos namin iyon,” Korina said.

But now, it’s all systems go for the wedding.

“Pupunta ako ng Pampanga kasi doon ako maghahanap ng giveaways. Halos buo na ang entourage, talagang wala na itong urungan. Very, very close friend and family ang magiging entourage. Halos buo na ang mga ninang at ninong namin.

‘Paolo, the son of Mar, will be his best man [whom] I think is [the] right [choice]. My three brothers are going to walk me to my groom. Pinag-usapan na namin ang music. Ang ganda-ganda ng music. Naku, nag-iiyakan kami talaga. It’s really beautiful.”

Needless to say, Korina is very excited about her wedding day.

“Nararamdaman ko na talaga ang joy.”
