Taguig City Hall man, four others nabbed for shabu
The happy days are over for a Taguig City Hall employee and four others who were arrested by policemen for allegedly selling shabu during a buy-bust operation last Thursday night.
Elmer Dionisio, 39, detailed at the Public Order and Safety Office (POSO) and resident of Barangay Wawa, Taguig, has reportedly been dodging random drug tests since last week raising suspicion from his co-workers.
The law finally caught up with Dionisio at 11 p.m. Thursday when he unknowingly sold P300 worth of methamphetamine hydrochloride or shabu to SPO2 Luisito Buquid, who went undercover as poseur buyer. Dionisio was then collared.
The four other suspects were Manalili, alias Bada, of Brgy. Lower Bicutan; Aldrin C. Edang, alias Al, 40, and Rodwin C. Orbien, alias Rodwin Castillo, 57, both of Brgy. Upper Bicutan, all in Taguig.
Another pusher, Rommel V. Ricarde, 42, of Brgy. Agoho, Pateros was arrested while peddling shabu within Taguig.
The buy-bust took place along Gen. Luna Street in Barangay Tuktukan, just a stone’s throw away from the city hall, said police chief Senior Supt. Camilo Cascolan.
But Dionisio is also known to sell his wares within the city hall compound itself, which is quite ironic given the local government’s stern stance against illegal drugs.
Prior to the arrest, a video footage of the daring suspect selling shabu inside the city hall was caught through the help of an informant.
Upon seeing the video, Taguig Mayor Freddie Tiñga directed Cascolan to place the POSO member under surveillance and work for his immediate capture.
“We cannot tolerate such blatant act of notoriety. We will not allow city hall to be a ground for any illegal activities.
Let this be a stern warning to all our employees, the city government is firm in its stand against illegal drugs,” Tiñga said.
Taguig Human Resource Management Office (HRMO) head Jeanette Clemente said Dionisio is already subject for suspension for avoiding the random drug test being implemented by the city hall among its employees.
