The trouper in Isabel Oli

Kapuso star Isabel Oli proved to be a real professional during her mini-show at NE Bodega Mall in Cabanatuan City last Sept. 19.

When called onstage to perform Taylor Swift’s “Love Story,” Isabel couldn’t hear herself sing and so her timing was off when she started. Isabel sang a few bars ahead of when she was supposed to which, of course, affected the singing. Some of us almost expected her to ask for a reprise.

But Isabel just went on until she finally got the timing right. And if one were to only look at her before she reached that point, no one would be able to say that she was fumbling with the song. Isabel was all smiles throughout the “dilemma” which made the audience appreciate her efforts all the more.

An hour before the show, Isabel had lunch with the press at a nearby restaurant. Although she knew that eyes were on her being the celebrity that she is, Isabel ate to her heart’s content belying the stereotype that actors are forever on a strict diet.

She also accommodated questions from the press midway through her meal, unmindful of being interrupted. When asked to comment on hot issues involving fellow Kapuso stars, Isabel refused to give one, politely pointing out that it’s none of her business.

Isabel’s heart of gold came to fore once more after her mall show. Even while the mall’s security personnel tried to stop people from asking for her autograph because the allotted time to do so was already up, the actress singled out the children in the audience to accommodate their request for a picture taken with her.

Isabel was at the NE Bodega Mall for a good cause. She was invited by mall owner Leticia Uy and her daughter, Gay, to honor the city’s top high school students. To encourage them to keep up their good work in school, owners of Megasoft (manufacturer and distributor of Sisters Feminine Napkins and panty liners) Emilio Uy and wife Aileen Go gave each of the children special Sisters packages.

Isabel’s Cabanatuan stop is part of Sisters Feminine Napkins nationwide tour which includes Baguio, Dagupan, Cavite, Pampanga, Bicol, Batangas, and Laguna. Sisters Feminine Napkins now has panty liners in resealable packs. For more information, visit www.megasoft.com.ph.

Isabel is part of the cast of the forthcoming GMA soap opera, “Kaya Kong Abutin Ang Langit.”
