Ask her about how she breathes life into her villainous roles on television and Glaiza de Castro will gladly answer you. But ask her about her love life, she would always be adamant about her views on matters of the heart.

This is because, according to her, she doesn’t know if she is in love at the moment. Reports have it that she and actor Patrick Garcia have grown closer to one another and are even in a “relationship.”

“I really don’t know if I’m in love,” she blushed. “I really don’t know and I’d rather focus on work. All I know is that I’m happy and driven.”

She added that her more determined mindset about work sprang forth from the many TV and movie projects she has received so far this year. The result of her hard work has inspired her to love her career more and to also give it more than 100%!

“I’ve waited for a long time for my showbiz career to be this fulfilling. I’m grateful that the Lord has answered my prayers and wishes. I’m very happy and I’m really taking care of my career. I’m also giving my best in every project,” explained Glaiza in Filipino.

The new intensity she has for work, she stressed, is also due to her passion to always offer something new in the roles she accepts. After the success of her afternoon drama series with Maxene Magalona and Patrick Garcia entitled “Kung Aagawin Mo Ang Lahat Sa Akin,” she now plays Eunice in the Filipino adaptation of the popular Korean TV series “Stairway to Heaven.” In the story, she figures in a love triangle with Dingdong Dantes and Rhian Ramos.

Doesn’t she tire of “kontrabida” roles?

“No, because I feel that I’m just starting. Unlike my previous role, you don’t know what is going on inside the mind of Eunice. What’s going inside her head is really devious. She is subtle in her approach and very scheming,” she described her.

Gladys Andrada, her role in “Kung Aagawin Mo Ang Lahat Sa Akin,” failed in comparison to Eunice because her character now is more complex.

“Despite being evil, she still has a heart and there’s a reason she became a bad person. If she is stepping down on people, she is also being stepped on by other people. She also has to fulfill her needs and wants and she will do everything for the person she loves,” she explained.

So how much does she see herself in Eunice? Will she also do everything for the person she loves?

“We’re not the same because I don’t run over people just to get the man I love.

Everything will depend on the situation. I won’t try to win the man I love to the point that I would hurt another person. I believe that he is for me if the Lord allows it. It’s not in our hands to know who is the right person for us,” she opined.

As for Patrick Garcia, Glaiza explained that their friendship could have been misinterpreted because they have been “bonding” more often than before. She admitted that before taping for “Kung Aagawin Mo Ang Lahat Sa Akin,” she was detached with Patrick because of rumors that they’re an “item.” But before their show ended, their friendship was back to normal.

“We haven’t talked for a long time because I was embarrassed with the issues coming out. Right now it’s impossible for intrigues to affect our friendship anymore… we don’t have any label on our friendship. All I know is that he is more open to me now. But he is not courting me,” she declared.

“Stairway to Heaven” airs every night in GMA-7’s primetime block.
