Jinggoy denies father's involvement in Bentain disappearance
In a privilege speech Wednesday, Senator Jinggoy Estrada denied his father's involvement in the disappearance of Edgar Bentain, a former video technician of PAGCOR. Estrada was reacting to the second part of Sen. Panfilo Lacson's expose, implicating the senator's father, former President Joseph Ejercito Estrada.
"Mr. Lacson is now using the memory of Mr. Bentain once again to snare President Estrada... however he cannot present evidence that would connect Estrada to the case," Jinggoy said.
Sen. Estrada answered Lacson's several allegations by also presenting footage and audio clips of interviews from people like Francisco "Kit" Mateo and Sabina Dacer, Bubby Dacer's daughter.
According to Jinggoy, Sabina Dacer has a recollection of his father saying that "if anything happens to me, mga anak, walang ibang my kagagawan n'yan kundi si Ping Lacson."
Sen. Estrada likewise presented a video clip of Francisco Mateo, Lacson's former subordinate, pointing to Lacson as the mastermind in killing a 20-year-old woman and an 8-year-old girl whose bodies were both dumped in Manila bay.
"Nandun mismo sa helicopter si Gen. Lacson," Mateo said in the video clip.
Sen. Estrada dared Lacson to file the necessary charges against Erap and to go to court.
