Aquino sisters coming up with Rosary album
For the first time, the four daughters of former President Corazon Aquino and Senator Benigno “Ninoy” Aquino Jr. have gone to a recording studio to make a “Rosary” album which will come out in time for the 55th wedding anniversary of their parents next month.
The sisters – Maria Elena “Ballsy” Cruz, Aurora Corazon “Pinky” Abellada, Victoria Eliza “Viel” Dee, and actress-TV host Kristina “Kris’’ Bernadette A. Yap – have also expressed approval for Valenzuela City Councilor Shalani Soledad, girlfriend of their only brother Senator Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III.
Produced by Star Records, the sisters said the rosary album for their parents is almost finished, according to the showbiz-oriented program “Showbiz News Ngayon” (SNN) aired over ABS-CBN last Wednesday night. The show is hosted by Boy Abunda and Kris Aquino.
The album launching also coincides with the rosary month this October.
Kris said her elder sisters are also starting to get used to public attention and appearances.
“Naaaliw talaga ako sa kanila nung inaayusan na sila. Nag-pictorial na kami para sa isang magazine at natuto na rin silang mag-make-up,’’ she said.
“Medyo nasasanay na rin kami sa ingay sa mga public functions. Usually, autograph signing and picture-taking lang naman. Pero natutuwa talaga kami sa kanila lalo’t sa suporta na binibigay nila amin,’’ Pinky said, referring to the public’s warm reception for them.
Ballsy said she really appreciates the public support for the Aquino family.
“After the 2010 elections, malamang tatahimik na. Pero kung mananalo si Noynoy, malamang tuloy-tuloy pa rin.’’
The rosary album is not the first for Kris, the youngest, most visible and most outspoken among the Aquino siblings. She has recorded several CDs, including the recent bestseller “We Are 1”, a musical educational training album recorded with her second son, Baby James.
President Aquino, who passed away last August 1, 2009, was a devout Catholic who prayed the rosary a lot. Praying the rosary is a popular devotion to the Blessed Mother among Catholics.
