Michael Jackson's musical resurrection all set

Michael Jackson’s first posthumous single titled, “This Is It,” is set to hit the airwaves on Oct. 12. The song features backing vocals by Jackson's brothers.
“This Is It” is the title track of the forthcoming two-disc album that the late pop star’s record label will release internationally on Oct. 26, and in North America on Oct. 27.
John McClain, co-producer of the upcoming double disc album and an executor of the late pop star’s estate, said that the song “defines, once again, what the world already knows -- that Michael is one of God's greatest gifts."
Sony Music revealed that the first disc of the album will feature some of Jackson's greatest hits plus two versions of the new single, "This Is It."
The second disc, on the other hand, will include unreleased versions of some of the singer's classic tracks, and a spoken word poem titled "Planet Earth" performed by Jackson.
The grand finale of Jackson’s “resurrection,” will be the release of the “This Is It” movie on Oct. 28.
The movie “This Is It” will contain footages taken from Jackson’s rehearsals for a planned 50-date comeback concert at the O2 Arena before his death last June 25, says Reuters.
In other news, rock bands Kiss, Genesis and Red Hot Chili Peppers are leading this year’s nominees for induction to the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame.
Also in the running are the Hollies, LL Cool J, Jimmy Cliff, ABBA, the Chantels, Darlene Love, Laura Nyro, the Stooges and Donna Summer, according to Billboard.com.
The US music chart company added that “only five of the 12 nominees will be chosen for induction from ballots cast by more than 500 music industry voters.”
An announcement of the inductees is expected in January, and the Hall's 25th annual induction ceremony will take place March 15 at its usual venue, at the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel in New York City.
