Pacman accepts public apology
BAGUIO CITY – Filipino boxing sensation Manny Pacquiao accepted the public apology issued by well-known boxing trainer Floyd Mayweather Sr. who accused the pound for pound king of allegedly using steroids prior to his fights that gives him awesome power and speed in deposing his opponents.
But the reigning junior welterweight champion said his accepting Mayweather Sr.'s apology does not mean that he will close the said chapter since he has instructed his legal team to review the possible charges to be filed against the noted trainer to teach him a lesson.
Pacquiao claimed Mayweather Sr.'s irresponsible statements accusing him of using banned steriods has already tainted his reputation as a boxer and his person, thus, he must be given a lesson so that he will not do the same to other rising boxing stars who have overshadowed his son, Floyd Mayweather Jr.
According to the 30-year old champion, the case to be filed against Mayweather Sr. will be finalized after his November 14, 2009 title bout with Puerto Rican welterweight champion Miguel Coto at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada.
For his part, three-time trainer of the Year Freddie Roach said Pacquiao undergoes the required urine tests before and after fights, thus, it should have already been detected by the physicians if he had used banned steroids prior to his fights in the United States over the past several years.
Moreover, such urine tests are studied by the Nevada State Athletic Commission which is a clear indication that the Filipino champion never used such steriods since all urine tests have passed and turned out negative for prohibited substances.
