COTABATO CITY – Top-ranking appointive officials and executives of the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) formed themselves into a new group to advance good governance, improve delivery of basic services and quick response to concerns of the region’s populace.

As this developed, ARMM Regional Governor Datu Zaldy Uy Ampatuan lauded the formation of the group.

“I am very optimistic that this strategic alliance will also enhance the management practices and performance of our officials and executives in dealing with the challenges and obstacles in their delivery of public service, as this organization will serve as good counsel and support group to provide the needed assistance and counsel for its members,” Ampatuan said in a message read by ARMM Executive Secretary Oscar Sampulna.

Civil Service Commission (CSC) Chairman Ricardo L. Saludo also welcomed the organization formed at the El Manuel Hotel here.

“This organization will be our important partner in the implementation of CSC programs for good governance and effective public service,” said Saludo, as he called on the ARMM officials and executives “to treat us as your partners towards a common goal of good governance, public sector management and effective public service.”

In another development, Ampatuan has named his new chief of staff (CoS) as he lauded the new organization formed by ARMM top appointed officials.

The regional governor appointed Bai Noria A. Asim as his new CoS, replacing Bai Rebecca A. Ampatuan, who was designated director for Administration and Finance of the Regional Legislative Assembly (RLA).

“I accept the challenge as the new Chief of Staff of Regional Governor Ampatuan. But every effort that the regional government is pushing for will be unfeasible if we will not work collectively. Promoting reforms inside the government is painstaking. Every one of us ought to be conscientious. Let us help ARMM. Let us help our fellows,” said Asim in a statement coursed through the ARMM’s Bureau of Public Information (BPI).

Before her appointment, she served as president of the Association of Barangay Chairmen in Shariff Aguak town, Maguindanao. The ARMM chief executive picked her for her wide experience in public service.
