Young actor Aljur Abrenica has apologized to Iza Calzado for unwittingly stealing the limelight from her during the recent "The Echo" premiere where he brought flowers to make up with his reel partner, Kris Bernal.

“I think Aljur was trying to apologize to Kris (Bernal) [for something] tapos nagdala siya ng flowers. Niloko ko si Aljur, sabi ko, ‘Yung sa akin, nasaan?’ I think merong nag-react na parang hindi raw tama na gawin iyon [ni Aljur doon],” Iza said on “Startalk,” Sept. 26.

Aljur was gentleman enough to admit his fault.

“He sent me an SMS that very night, apologizing. In-explain niya 'yong side niya. Hindi pa raw niya alam, kumbaga, (dahil) baguhan siya sa business. Sabi ko (sa kanya), okay lang iyon,” she said.

Although Iza did not take Aljur’s actions against him, she gently told the young star that other celebrities might be slighted if it happens to them.

“So, sinabi ko sa kanya (na) he has to be more careful with his actions.”

The actress added that she’s “clueless” as to why Aljur brought Kris flowers then.

“Hindi ko naman sila nakakausap kaya hindi ko alam ang intention niya (for doing so). Ang sa akin, maliit na bagay (yung nangyari) at hindi ko na dapat palakihin,” said she who has known Aljur since he was 12 years old.

“The Echo” is the Hollywood remake of Yam Laranas’ “Sigaw” which also had Iza in the cast.
