P16-million chemicals used in illegal drugs destroyed

More than P16 million worth of confiscated chemicals that are used in the production of illegal drugs were destroyed by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) on Tuesday.

PDEA Director General Dionisio Santiago warned illegal drug syndicates that the agency remains “committed and dedicated to continue fighting until this (drug) social menace is subdued.”

Santiago led the destruction of the chemicals that were incinerated at the Green Planet Management Incorporated in Punturin Lawang Bato, Valenzuela City.

More than P16 million worth of controlled precursors and essential chemicals (CPECs) were destroyed at the facility including a total of 3,601.1 liters of liquid chemicals and seven tons of solid chemicals. (Jeffrey G. Damicog)
