Why would a man frame himself for murder? That question will be answered when two-time Oscar winner Michael Douglas’s latest suspense-thriller “Beyond A Reasonable Doubt” hits theaters.

Distributed by Viva International Pictures, the movie also stars Jesse Metcalfe (“John Tucker Must Die,” “Desperate Housewives”) as the idealistic young reporter who sets himself up as a murder suspect to prove his case against a corrupt district attorney (DA) named Mark Hunter, played by Douglas.

The DA is believed to have won a string of high-profile cases – thus bolstering his political ambitions and dreams of making it to the governor’s office in the next election – by planting DNA evidence at crime scenes.

With intricate plot twists keeping the tension going throughout the film, this gripping courtroom thriller is written and directed by acclaimed director Peter Hyams (“Capricorn One,” “Outland” and “2010”) and also stars Amber Tamblyn, Orlando Jones and Joel David Moore.

A remake of the Fritz Lang 1956 RKO classic, “Beyond A Reasonable Doubt” opens in theaters nationwide on Oct. 7.
