According to an 11 am advisory issued by PAGASA, Typhoon Pepeng (international name: Parma) has weakened into a tropical storm with maximum sustained winds of 95 kph.

It will remain stationary, northwest of Laoag City until Thursday (October 8, 2009) morning.

Storm Warning Signal Number 2 is still raised in Ilocos Norte, while Signal Number 1 is raised in Ilocos Sur, Abra, Apayao, Batanes Group, Northern Cagayan, Calayan Islands and Babuyan Islands.
