DoST slates scholarship examination
BUTUAN CITY – The Department of Science and Technology (DoST) Tuesday announced that November 15 this year is the examination date for scholarship applicants at all DoST offices nationwide.
The DoST also announced that October 9 is the deadline for the filing of applications for the DoST College Scholarship.
This developed as a result of the devastation caused by tropical storm “Ondoy” in Metro Manila and nearby Luzon provinces, said Northern Mindanao DoST officer-in-charge Jacinto Taran Sr.
He said graduating high school students, or those high school graduates who wish to apply for scholarship are encouraged to visit the nearest DoST regional office or provincial centers.
Qualified to apply for the scholarship are those who belong to the upper five percent of the graduating class, who are not more than 21-years-old, of good health, of good moral character and have no pending application to migrate to any country abroad.
Applicants should submit the following requirements: Filled-up application form duly signed by concerned persons; Form 138 or report card; birth certificate; electric bills for June, July, and August 2009; two pieces 1x1 recent colored ID pictures; and 2008 Income Tax Returns of parents.
