While other celebrities choose to bring a coterie of beauty and wardrobe assistants to their showbiz functions, actress Roxanne Guinoo dares to be different.

That is, she brings with her two up to four burly bodyguards.

A recent sighting by Manila Bulletin Entertainment Online confirmed this:

In a pictorial held before typhoon Ondoy hit Metro Manila and nearby cities, Roxanne arrived at Ilumina Photography Studio on Panay Ave. in Quezon City with two huge, muscled men.

The bodyguards, we were told, are courtesy of Roxanne's rich non-showbiz boyfriend. Her protective beau, it is said, insists that she doesn’t go to any of her showbiz functions sans the bodyguards.

Is this because of her altercation with some snoops?

It can be recalled that Roxanne's relationship with the press has not been friendly lately. It started when she engaged a tabloid wag in a short verbal tussle during the press conference for ABS-CBN's TV soap, "Florinda."

That said, Roxanne was a no-show in the press huddle for the movie, "Yaya and Angelina: The Spoiled Brat Movie." Many interpreted it as her way of avoiding further trouble with the press. 

Lately, Roxanne's TV assignments are few and far between. However, the actress isn’t complaining because she is busy finishing her course at the Philippine Christian Academy.

Roxanne was last seen in "Florinda" in which she played the role of Maricel Soriano's younger sister. She is cast in Regal Entertainment's forthcoming film, the popular horror series “Shake, Rattle & Roll.”
