Mothers know best and that is the reason that after ending “Moms” run, Q Channel 11 is bringing back another nightly show on mothers – “Full Time Moms” that is hosted by hands-on and working mothers Suzi Entrata-Abrera and Christine Jacob-Sandejas.

According to Q11’s executive Gigi Santiago, there had been a clamor from their mommy viewers and advertisers as well for such show after “Moms” was axed.

So now, mothers have a new BFF (Best Friends Forever!) on TV.

“Actually, coming up with this project started last May. So if we’re going to come up with a new show, it should be something fresh and the values that our audience looks for in a show is still present. So we came up with ‘Full Time Moms’ that has a lot of different elements and segments,” Gigi explained.

Unlike the now defunct “Moms,” the new show is not just a straight talk show addressing parental issues but also very interactive as they get the opinions of their audience and people on the street.

“The show also presented a perfect opportunity for us to tap Suzi and Christine as hosts who are both athletic, very active and they are hands-on parents,” related Gigi.

So what treatment would be used on “Full Time Moms?”

“We want to do things na kahit harassed ang nanay masaya pa rin. October is breast cancer month and I fought with that so ayaw ko nang iyakan kasi three years of ‘Moms’ ako ang guest nila and we always cry. This time around we would like to talk about the pain but in a way that you can still laugh because laughter is what you really hold on to when you’re confronted with something like that. So why would I cry? Laugh naman,” explained the show’s director Bibeth Ortez Siguion Reyna.

Q Channel 11 describes “Full Time Moms” as “every mother’s partner in leading a full life as it features various topics on parenting, husband and wife relationship, personal crises, beauty and even entertainment.

“This show is relaxing. When it comes to topics, the show is very factual and it doesn’t float on a vacuum.  It is very aware of  topics like people not wanting to adopt children or on men who can willingly become house-bands. Kumukuha kami ng opinion sa kalye and the discussion is based on the ordinary people,” opined Bibeth.

Part of the show’s preparation too for the show was a workshop conducted for Suzi and Christine. It was geared towards their hosts’ sensitivity and awareness regarding different issues.

“I was very pleased with them simply and primarily because my two hosts read books and newspapers and magazines… the concept of motherhood is complete in them and it is important kasi sa akin ‘yung reading mother also,” the director said.

So what can viewers expect from “Full Time Moms?”

Suzi in an interview said that “moms can learn and be inspired by the experiences of the guests in their show and from other mothers with the same concerns as the viewers... mommy to mommy bonding, experts sharing knowledge, funny skits and interesting man-on-the-street surveys!”

On her part, Christine admitted that a show like “Full Time Moms” tells a mother viewer that she is not alone especially if she is raising a child. She shared in an interview, “That’s why there are a lot of books on parenting which are based on similar experiences most moms share in rearing a child.”

Though shows that deal directly or in passing about mothers abound in the different networks, “Full Time Moms” is different and entertaining, Bibeth stressed.

“If the topics are repeated it’s because the world continues to revolve on the same topics but it is presented on a different perspective of another host and a different generation and another time. Kung baga the rules of 10  years ago doesn’t necessarily apply today. So I feel young in this show. I get to pretend that I’m as young as the hosts,” she smiled.

But is this show as entertaining and informative enough for husbands or male viewers to also watch?

“If they know what’s good for them,” laughed Bibeth.

“Full Time Moms” airs daily starting Monday, Oct. 12, at 7:30 p.m. at Q Channel 11.
