CEBU CITY – The 53rd Engineering Brigade of the Central Command (Centcom) has recently announced that before the end of October, three more farm-to-market roads (FMR) under the Kalayaan sa Barangay Program (KBP) will be opened in previously rebel-infested areas in Negros Oriental.

Maj. Frederick Ancheta, Information Officer of the 53rd Engineering Brigade made the announcement during a recent forum here where he stressed that the opening of the three roads will be done last week of this month as the construction of the said roads are in its final phase.

“The construction is now 83 percent based on its expected target of completion,” he said, “and that is why before this month ends we are confident that these roads will be finished.”

The FMRs are located in the towns of Sta. Catalina, Pamplona, and Siaton.

For the first and second batch of the FMR projects under the KBP, Centcom has identified 11 FMRs in the province of Negros Oriental.
