Despite the financial crisis, the Philippine Transmarine Carriers, Inc. (PTC) has remained confident its yearly income will grow with good management and better business strategy.

With over 26,000 officers and crew deployed worldwide, PTC’s success has been traced to its ability to provide its partners total crew management solutions, account management system, and integrated human resource development program, the PTC statement stated.

“Our unique partnership philosophy focuses on customized crewing programs and services that meet our clients varying requirements and expectations,” the statement said.

Christina Manzano, chief executive officer of the PTC, said this is the reason why our company is on top of the shipping industry for over the last 28 years of its shipping business.

The PTC’s shipping business covers a range of vessels from VLCCs to cable laying ships, bulk carriers to ROROs, containers ships to yachts, LPG / LNG carriers to cruise liners.

Throughout its corporate history, the company has been a consistent recipient of the Philippine government awards for its outstanding performance.

PTC’s integrated human resource development program incorporates a global perspective in managing the careers of its seafaring professionals through training at the PHILCAMSAT (Philippine Center for Advanced Maritime Simulation and Training), and advanced in-house training center to develop world-class capability of its officers and crew.

Established in 1992, PHILCAMSAT (formerly PTC Training Center), is the first maritime training center thrice-certified by Det Norske Veritas as one of the best training centers in the world.

The PHILCAMSAT utilizes state-of-the-art integrated bridge, engine and cargo simulators to ensure that the training experience is as close as possible to the actual shipboard environment.

As part of the overall development of our officers and crew, PHILCAMSAT regularly conducts behavioral courses that focus on enhancing personality traits and management skills. In many instances, PHILCAMSAT designs specific courses which are tailor-fit to client requests and which exceed the minimum requirements of STCW 95.

In April, 2008, PTC entered into a partnership with Malayan College Laguna (MCL), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Mapua Institute of Technology, for the launching of the Mapua-PTC College of Maritime Education and Training.
