The city government of Valenzuela has launched an intensified health drive targeting children of pre-school age as part of the city's comprehensive health program and the country's commitment to the UN Millennium Development Goals to reduce child mortality by two-thirds by 2015.

Dubbed "Garantisadong Pambata,'' the program which was conducted amidst the ongoing relief operations for the victims of tropical storm "Ondoy" initially benefitted some 200 parents and their children aged five years and below from Karuhatan and San Jeremias daycare centers.

They received a package of services such as free vaccinations, booster, and shots.
