As far as actor-singer Jericho Rosales is concerned, Cristine Reyes is just a friend.
 
Echo diffused rumors that he and the sexy star are an item. The rumors began after they were spotted together at a party the eve prior to Ondoy.
 
"Cristine and I never had any [romantic] relationship naman or anything. We're friends, nagkatrabaho kami sa 'Kahit Isang Saglit' na nominated nga sa Emmys," Echo explained on "Showbiz News Ngayon," October 14.
 
The actor added it was he who actually revealed the so-called "date."
 "No malice. Ako ang nagsabi noon because magkakasama kami ng mga kaibigan namin. Wala naman kaming relationship. We go out, kaming magkakabarkada. I invited her sa birthday ko [held] sa Magnet [bar]."
 
Jericho said his latest love is not Cristine but his new album "Change". The album's promotional single, "Pusong Ligaw," can be heard on "Dahil May Isang Ikaw."
 
"With this new album, I'm overflowing with joyfulness and thankfulness. I'm very excited kasi alam kong marami pang darating," said he.
 
Does "Pusong Ligaw" describe of the state of his heart?
 
"Well, my single is 'Pusong Ligaw' but hindi naman ibig sabihin naliligaw ang puso ko. 'Pusong Ligaw' is close to my heart because, number one, I wrote it. Number two, I wrote it with Butch Elizalde, the husband of my manager. Hindi ko na-imagine na lalabas ako sa comfort zone ko para makagawa ng ganitong kanta. I hope everyone gets to listen to it."
 
Incidentally, Jericho is one of the many actors who is considered a hero during Ondoy. He braved the typhoon's onslaught to save lives using his surfing know-how.
 
Echo endorses Extra Joss energy drink which he said is also doing its share to help Ondoy victim starting with a million peso donation made during the launch.
 
The donation will be channeled through the ABS-CBN Foundation for its Sagip Kapamilya project.
