No more brownouts in Rizal, east Metro
RIZAL — Brownouts will no longer be experienced by residents of some towns here and in Metro Manila after the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) energized all three transformers in Dolores, Taytay, that were damaged by a fire that had resulted in massive power outages.
Faye de Jesus of the Corporate Communications Office of the NGCP said the company has completed repairs on the three transformer units and have eventually energized its Dolores Substation in Taytay.
De Jesus said each transformer unit gives 100 to 150 megawatts of electricity to the Manila Electric Company (Meralco).
Earlier, Meralco had to implement two to six hours of rotational brownouts in the affected areas of the province and the eastern portion of Metro Manila following the fire at the Dolores substation.
