Derek Ramsay: Not vain, just hot
Although he claims to not be vain at all, actor-model Derek Ramsay admits he worries about his looks because physical appearance matter much in his line of work.
"I want to be as realistic and credible in each role that I play. I want to excel in what I do," he said.
As hot as he looks, Ramsay said he doesn’t go to the gym regularly.
"My schedule won't allow it."
Instead, Ramsay engages himself in sports such as Frisbee-throwing and swimming to keep fit. He added that his fast metabolic rate allows him to easily maintain a chiseled body.
Surprisingly, the actor is not comfortable with his hunky image.
"I get shy whenever somebody compliments me for my looks. I don't know...I still have to get used to it. It's nice to be admired...but I just...I think it will take sometime for me to adjust to that."
Ramsay feels blessed to be among the busiest dudes in local cinema nowadays. Aside from a slew of endorsements, he is busy doing “Precious Hearts Romances: Ang Lalaking Nagmahal Sa Akin” with Toni Gonzaga.
"I love working in that show. Our director, Wenn Deramas, is a genius especially when it comes to comedy.
“It's a blessing, too, that I am paired with Toni as she is easy to get along with. She's so funny."
His next movie, a heavy drama titled “I Love You Goodbye,” is Star Cinema's entry to the upcoming Metro Manila Film Festival.
More than its genre and what it requires from him as an actor, Derek is concerned to be in his elements in the film because it also stars his girlfriend Angelica Panganiban.
"It's kinda harder to do a scene with somebody that you're with. Plus, it's for the film fest so there’s pressure there."
