Mikee misses showbiz

One of the most beautiful faces in showbiz industry, Mikee Cojuangco-Jaworski (born Mikaela María Antonia de los Reyes Cojuangco), proved her natural beauty still charms the public as she lends her face and untainted image to a new breakthrough all-natural skincare innovation.
In a recent press launch of her newest endorsement (Fullerlife’s Nutrimetics Skinlogics: A facial wash-facial scrub-toner-moisturizer set) held at Madison, Greenbelt 5 in Makati, hosted by mommy advocate Maricel Laxa-Pangilinan, Mikee shared her secret of natural and ageless beauty. “A good husband,” she smiled, stating that she is happy with what she has gone through in life given a break from showbiz limelight for quite some time now.
Missing showbiz
A former athlete, (she is a gold medalist equestrienne in the 2002 Asian Games in Busan, South Korea), Mikee said she still do the sport nowadays, but just to exercise. She also said that she is so busy to go back to showbiz again. “I guess being able to interview people, react with more people, act… I enjoy doing all of these things. Nami-miss ko [ang showbiz] from time to time. Pero I’m too busy to make some time,” she expressed.
Though out of the scene, Mikee still receives some movie offers. The last was when she did a cameo role in “You Changed My Life” top-billed by John Lloyd Cruz and Sarah Geronimo, which is a box-office hit shown last February.
“I really enjoyed that [my cameo role]. Pero of course it’s time-taxing also, even if I just appeared in that movie. Of course, every time I’m offered something, one of the biggest considerations is how much time I have to spend away from my kids,” she quipped.
Happy being a mom
Mikee, despite leaving showbiz (she left showbiz when she got married to former Pasig City congressman Robert “Dodot” Jaworski, Jr., son of local basketball icon and former senator Robert “Sonny” Jaworski in 1999), said she is a doting mom to her four boys: Her husband and her three sons Robert Vincent Anthony III, Rafael Joseph, and Renzo Mikael. Ten years after living a family life, Mikee shared her experience, “It’s fun. It’s exciting, kasi my kids are in different stages. I have a nine-year-old, seven-year-old, and one-year-old, all boys, so I’m really enjoying it.”
Asked if she would want her children to pursue equestrian like her, she answered, “I don’t think Dodot and I are capable of supporting them financially for something like that. Unless they’re only going to do it at our local level. In which case, sayang naman yung effort at saka yung pagod nila. Mas gugustuhin ko na pumasok sila sa sport na puwede talaga silang mag-excel even internationally,” she opined.
She continued, “We just want to teach our kids as best as we can the values that we believe are important, tapos bahala na sila kung anong gusto nilang pasukin,” she said in response of what field of career she would want her children be in the future.
Mikee on her advocacies
Apart from being a full-time wife and mom, Mikee also busies herself in taking part of advocacies she believes in – for the betterment of the country. Mikee is the spokesperson for Anak TV. But what keeps her busy these past few days (apart from helping Ondoy victims just like others) is “Tuloy Pnoy,” a cause launched by them when her first cousin Noynoy Aquino decided to run for president in 2010 elections.
“Tuloy Pnoy is based on the advocacy, Anong Taya Mo, yung dati naming grupo, which basically is a group promoting good citizenship. But when Kuya Noy decided to run, we decided to take a break from that cause to do our own other activities. We volunteered ourselves to support Kuya Noy because we believe in him. Tuloy Pnoy is basically where we ask ourselves, and we ask other people around us, ano ba from your skills or your talents, ano ba ang puwede mong ibigay to make our country the dream Philippines that we want it to be?,” Mikee explained.
Though surrounded by political clans, (Mikee was once SK President; her husband being a former congressman; a daughter to former Tarlac congressman Jose “Peping” Cojuangco, Jr. and former Tarlac governor Margarita “Tingting” de los Reyes-Cojuangco; and the niece of former president Cory Aquino), Mikee claims she has no plans of entering politics. “I don’t really have plans. I’m not interested in politics but I take every opportunity for public service,” she stressed.
