Cavite police heads to be reshuffled
IMUS, Cavite — More chiefs of police (CoPs) in Cavite would be relieved for the upcoming elections, a top police official said Sunday.
Senior Supt. Alfred S. Corpuz, Cavite Police Provincial Office (CPPO) director, said the reliefs of some police officials would be done in a month’s period.
“Other police officials are set to be relieved between now and November,” said Corpuz in an interview.
The 44-year-old police provincial commander started the reshuffle last October 1.
He said police chiefs who have served for more than two years would soon be relieved.
At least two police chiefs and one CPPO unit official are still in their positions even as their two-year tenure had lapsed.
They are: Supt. Ulysses G. Cruz, Imus town CoP; Supt. Gregorio G. Evangelista, General Trias town CoP; and Supt. Ramil R. Montilla, chief of CPPO Mobile Group.
Under the existing policy of the Philippine National Police (PNP), a police chief or head of a vital police unit would have to relinquish his position after serving for two years.
Corpuz had already relieved four town CoPs in the ongoing reorganization.
Supt. Dexter Rellora was designated Tagaytay City CoP replacing Supt. Joseph S. Javier, Chief Insp. Joselito Sisante as Indang CoP replacing Sr. Insp. Juan Oruga, Insp. Juan R. Gallera as Magallanes CoP.
Oruga was designated as Ternate CoP replacing Sisante.
Javier was reassigned as CPPO legal officer and camp custodian.
