The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) Environmental Management Bureau (EMB) in the National Capital Region and the Water Environment Association of the Philippines (WEAP) Inc. will conduct a “Basic Training Course for New Pollution Control Officers (PCO)” from October 27 to 30 at the Great Eastern Hotel, Quezon Avenue, Quezon City.

The four-day seminar shall orient the prospective PCOs on the different environmental laws and their corresponding rules and regulations, EMB policies and programs and PCO duties and responsibilities.

Director Roberto Sheen will spearhead the training to enable the industries to improve their environmental management, pollution prevention and cleaner production. Qualified participants shall be accredited as pollution control officers.
