Cops probe death of City Hall employee
DAVAO CITY – The Davao City Police Office (DCPO) has created a special investigating team to look into the killing of a City Hall employee last week in Barangay Wilfredo Aquino in Agdao, this city.
In an interview, Sr. Supt. Ramon Apolinario, city director of the DCPO, disclosed that the team will consolidate pieces of evidence for possible solution to the case.
“The team will follow up the case and collate the statements of parents and relatives, profile the victim and his acquaintance,” he said.
The team will be led by Sr. Insp. Ranulfo Cabaniog, Sta. Ana police station chief, who had been investigating the case.
Apolinario admitted that police authorities are having difficulty identifying the suspects even if the shooting incident was caught through closed circuit television (CCTV) camera.
“It is unfortunate that until now we have not identified the assailants. The quality of the video made it difficult to identify the suspects. The video was blurred and the suspects were wearing helmets. But we are seeking the help of computer experts to see if the quality of the video could be enhanced,” he said.
The camera caught the actual shooting incident between the victim, Chris Anthony Togle, 46, program assistant of the City Planning and Development Office (CPDO) and two motorcycle-riding suspects fronting the village hall of Barangay Wilfredo Aquino.
