The excited groom was not able to contain himself---or at least, that's how it appeared to be.

Sen. Mar Roxas stole a kiss from his bride-to-be Korina Sanchez during a recent rehearsal held at the Sto. Domingo Church in Quezon City.

The kiss was caught on camera with the footage aired on “TV Patrol World” on Oct. 21. It also showed the couple looking all too lovey-dovey, even as they continue to be busy with the numerous requisites for their forthcoming wedding.

It can be recalled that Mar proposed to Korina last April 12 in Negros Occidental during a Roxas clan reunion. Though the two have been together since 2002, they only made public their relationship in 2004.

Korina and Mar have taken leave from their respective jobs to focus on their wedding, with the former doing so only a few days after they announced their engagement.

Set to attend the lavish wedding ceremony is a hodgepodge of personalities from various sectors. Among these are Chief Justice Reynato Puno, Jovito Salonga, ABS-CBN chairman Gabby Lopez, Sen. Noynoy Aquino, Rosa Rosal, Baby Fores, Ruby Roxas, and Helen Costales who will attend the Filipiniana-inspired wedding as the couple’s godparents.

Sen. Roxas’ 15-year-old son from a previous relationship, Paolo Roxas, will stand as best man.  Korina’s close friend, beauty queen-turned-artist Dang Cecilio-Palanca, is matron of honor.

The grand reception, which was set earlier at the Araneta Coliseum, will now be held at the church compound. The couple decided on this out of respect to victims of typhoons Ondoy and Pepeng.

Also, the two million-peso budget supposedly allocated for the reception was donated to several organizations, including Caritas Philippines, ABS-CBN Foundation, GMA Kapuso Foundation, Philippine National Red Cross, and Igan Foundation.

“Matagal nga naming pinlano ni Korina at pinaghandaan ang espesyal na araw na ito. Gusto sana namin na marami ang kasalo sa saya. Pero parang hindi tama na malaki ang gagastusin sa selebrasyon sa panahon ng kalamidad. Pakikiramay at pagtulong na rin namin ito sa kanila,” said Mar in an interview.

The broadcast journalist and the senator will tie the knot on Oct. 27, 3 p.m.
