Revilla welcomes DoJ move against Hayden
Senator Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr. yesterday welcomed the recommendation of the Department of Justice (DoJ) to file charges against Dr. Hayden Kho, saying the finding of probable cause against the cosmetic surgeon is a step forward in the Senate’s cause to protect women from abusive partners.
“Lumilitaw na malinaw ang ebidensya na talagang may sala si Hayden (Kho) sa kabila ng kanyang mga palusot kaya nirekomenda ng DoJ na isampa na sa korte ang kaso (The evidences against Hayden is clear despite his excuses that is why the DoJ recommended cases to be filed against him before the courts,” Revilla said.
“Ang hangad ko ngayon ay ang mabilis na disposisyon ng kaso para maparusahan na siya. Laban ito ng lahat ng mga Pilipina kontra harassment at exploitation. Dapat matigil ang pagkalat ng mga sex video scandals sa ating bansa,” he further said. (Now I only hope for the early disposition of the case so he could be punished. This is the Filipino women’s fight against harassment and exploitation. The proliferation of sex video scandals in this country should stop.”)
With the DoJ’s recommendation, Revilla said it is high time that the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) revoke Kho’s medical license.
“The DoJ proved that justice is indeed blind, it refused to be persuaded by Hayden’s antics and propaganda, packaging himself as a women’s rights activist,” he said.
In a 23-page resolution, the DoJ panel that investigated the alleged videotaping and eventual dissemination over the Internet of Kho’s sexual act with actress Katrina Halili said the case falls under violation of Republic Act 9262 or the Anti-Violence Against Women and their Children Act of 2004.
