With cloud computing as the last evolution in the world of personal computers, NetSuite Inc., a leading cloud computing vendor, is doubling its Manila operations, according to CEO Zach Nelson.

The company, which currently employs some 300 Filipinos, is expanding its workforce to 600 to cater to local firms such as Jollibee, ABS-CBN, Diamond Fleet Management System, and MOTECH Automotive Education Center, Inc.

“If we used a platform like Oracle worldwide, it would require significant capital investment and a lot of resources, including a large IT team to implement and maintain the system in each country,” Ysmael Baysa, Jollibee chief financial officer, acknowledged.

One of the world’s largest fast food chains, Jollibee operates over 1,800 stores in Asia and North America. “NetSuite provides all the capabilities we need internationally, in a time-frame and at a cost that supports our continued growth and development,” he noted.

“NetSuite makes it easier to evaluate and enhance our products and to create new bundles of services for different customers,” claimed Genemar Simpao, CIO of ABS-CBN Global. “NetSuite provides the functionality and flexibility we need, with a reduced initial cost outlay.”

ABS-CBN Global is the international content distribution subsidiary of ABS-CBN Broadcasting Corporation, the Philippine-based multi-media conglomerate.

“NetSuite has consistently improved our awareness of every aspect of the company and thus improving decision-making, which is why we are committed to expanding it to all of our operating divisions,” remarked Quincy Buenaflor, VP-Operations, Diamond Fleet Management System. Diamond is the country’s leading car rental firm.

“We were able to open two more branches this year, thanks to NetSuite,” said Eugene Naguiat, President of MOTECH Automotive “Setting up shop now only takes a few weeks instead of the months it took with our previous system.”

MOTECH Automotive’s chain of automotive service centers cater to over 20,000 customers nationwide.

The country’s largest cloud computing applications vendor is likewise providing NetSuite Version 2009.2, a new localized product designed to meet the requirements of the Bureau of Internal Revenue for key tax compliance, reporting and data export requirements.
